Game 160: Minnesota @ Northwestern

Northwestern has been that annoyance on Minnesota’s schedule the past few seasons. Last minute heartbreak seemed to be Minnesota’s game plan against the ‘Cats. However, this season would be different.  Northwestern made certain to keep the game close enough to palpitate hearts in the stands.

But, the cat attack ran out of fight as quarter three came to a close. Minnesota was going to make sure that this time, their old game plan would fail. This year’s fourth quarter finish belonged to Minnesota. Although not dramatic in it’s nature, the Gophers forced a key fumble that lead to their “stake in the heart” score. A beautiful day at Ryan Field was all that Cat fans could enjoy today as their improving team is suddenly realizing what it feels like to be on the other side of a payback.
