Here it is. Prime Time. Colorado.
The Buffaloes are hot and Coach Deion Sanders has been holding the flint sticks. This stadium hasn’t seen such sustained energy since the early 1990s when Colorado dominated on a national level. A win tonight would put the Buffaloes back into bowl eligibility. Another packed Folsom Field was ready.
Shadeur Sanders took a cue from his father and set a record right out of the gate – fifteen straight completions to start the game. Heisman candidate, Travis Hunter, hauled in some of those completions and the team as a whole didn’t look back. Even a late surge by Cincinnati wouldn’t keep the Buffs from securing a bowl game. Colorado 34-Cincinnati 23.
Postgame, Coach Sanders heaped praise on his son as he tousled his hair with pride. Deion also made it clear that Travis Hunter is unquestionably the best player in the country and should be walking away with the Heisman at the season’s end. Notably, Coach Sanders also made a point to celebrate Miss Peggy, Colorado’s super fan who is turning 100 next month. A bowl game for Peggy was the goal. Count it among many successes achieved with even more to count ahead.
