INDIANA – MEMORIAL STADIUM

Due to basketball’s domination in the state of Indiana and a shortage of winning seasons in the past decade, the Hoosier football program is starving for attention in the Big Ten. However, they have all the ingredients in Bloomington to be successful. John Mellencamp, an IU alum, donated a beautiful practice facility and the campus itself is very attractive. Memorial Stadium is hard to miss on campus. It’s old-fashioned press box and extremely high facades seem to go right up into the sky. Recently, Memorial Stadium has undergone a facelift with world class weight lifting facilities and added seats that closed both ends of the stadium. All these pieces make Memorial Stadium primed to be a cauldron of excitement.

Game 299: #14 Michigan @ Indiana

The Hoosiers have been winning the games they should win. In the competitive Big Ten East, it’s forgivable to lose to Ohio State, Penn State, and even Michigan State during their struggle saturated season. Indiana won all their non conference games, beat the lower echelon conference teams, and consequently have secured a bowl bid. With all this, though, wouldn’t it be nice to topple conference heavyweight, Michigan?

Game 297: UCF @ Tulsa

Tulsa is a better team than their under-.500 record suggests. This game against the back-to-back American Athletic Conference champion UCF Knights would be supporting evidence. UCF not only has dominated the conference the past two years, but also represented all “Group of Five” conferences in the 2018 Peach Bowl and 2019 Fiesta Bowl. Although the Knights already dented two notches in the loss column this season, they still represent the conference elite. A win over UCF would be groundshaking.

Game 296: Arkansas @ #1 Alabama

  • Alabama had won 12 straight against Arkansas.
  • Alabama’s Heisman candidate was out for this game.
  • Alabama’s next game is against #2 LSU.
    According to Crimson Tide head coach, Nick Saban, those facts are all “rat poison.” In Saban’s dictionary, “rat poison” would be defined as “outside noise, typically generated by the media, that causes distraction from the task at hand.” But Coach Saban is a media firewall for his team. His fury seems to always translate to his team’s focus – look away from the shiny objects, and focus on hammering the Hogs.
    As usual, that’s just what Alabama did.

FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL – RICCARDO SILVA STADIUM

Florida International University’s football program was born in 2002. Despite its youth, Riccardo Silva Stadium fills with pageantry on gameday. This bowl of bleachers cemented into campus contains all the ingredients necessary for a classic college atmosphere, and the Panther football team is making their roar heard along the college football landscape.
